Government of India has recently banned 47 Chinese apps after banning 59 Chinese apps.
The Indian government banned 47 more Chinese applications, after the nation recently barred 59 Chinese devices. Due to security issues the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) took the decision to block more Chinese applications. Read on to know more about this.
47 More Chinese Apps Banned
It has been suggested that new Chinese apps that are banned pose a threat to their security and users’ privacy. The app had earlier in the day worked on 59 Chinese apps banned in India. Although there is no word on what all the Chinese apps have added to the list, titles like TickTock Lite, Hello Lite, ShareIt Lite, Bigo Lite and VFY Lite have been added.
In addition, about 275 apps have come under the government’s radar because the apps could pose a threat to national security. The list includes apps such as the popular PUBG Mobile, Zylie by Xiaomi, AliExpress, Reso and more. This includes items that are not of Chinese origin, but are invited to invest in China. In addition, the use of apps under Section 69A of the Independent Powers and Information Technology Act is prohibited.
The government recently banned 59 Chinese apps for those who have forgotten, citing security concerns like Tiktok, Camscanner, Shine, Club Factory, Xander and many more. The apps were removed from both the Google Play Store and the App Store after the ban, and no longer had their corresponding APKs available.
