Scanning a QR Code on WhatsApp allows you to quickly and easily add new contacts and join groups by scanning a QR code shared by others. It can also be used to connect your mobile WhatsApp account to your PC.
How to Scan QR code on WhatsApp?
- To scan a QR code on WhatsApp, open your WhatsApp on mobile.
- Once you are in WhatsApp, tap on the three dot Menu icon at the top right corner of the screen and a drop-down menu will open.
- From drop-down menu select the Settings option.
- If you are using an iPhone, tap on Settings at the bottom right corner, this will open the settings screen with in the app.
- At the top left of the settings screen you will see your Account profile picture along with your name.
- You will see a QR code icon next to your name.
- Tap on the QR code icon and you will see two options, that are My code and Scan code.
- From the top of the screen tap on Scan code and this will open camera scanner with in the app.
- Point your phone scanner at the QR code displayed on the computer or another device.
- The app will then automatically scan the QR code and this will add someone to your account or login in to WhatsApp Web.
- You can also scan group code.
How to Scan Downloaded or Screenshot QR Code?
- If you want to scan a downloaded or screenshot QR code, first open your WhatsApp.
- Tap on the three dot Menu icon at the top right corner of the screen.
- From Menu, select the Settings, tap to open it.
- From the settings screen you will see your Account profile picture at top left corner along with your name.
- Next to your name you will see a QR code icon, tap on that and you will see two options, My code and Scan code.
- Tap on the Scan code and this will open camera scanner with in the app.
- Here, at the left bottom of the screen, you will see the Picture icon, click on that and it will open your phone gallery.
- Then, you can select the downloaded or screenshot of QR code from your gallery.
