Flipkart Wholesale To Extend Operations To 12 New Cities In India
Flipkart Wholesale is the Walmart-owned Flipkart Group’s digital B2B marketplace that was launched in July, but official services started last month. Flipkart has now announced the expansion of its Wholesale operations to 12 new cities in India.
Ghaziabad, Faridabad, Mysore, Chandigarh Tricity, Meerut, Agra, Jaipur, Thane-Bhiwandi-Ulhasnagar, Greater Mumbai, Vasai-Virar-Mira-Bhayanadar, Thane (Kalyan-Dombivli), and Thane (Navi Mumbai) are the towns in which Flipkart Wholesale operates.
Flipkart Wholesale ‘s expansion to new cities comes only some time ahead of the upcoming festive season, during which it is anticipated that the online e-commerce companies will sell through the roof.
A one-stop digital marketplace solution for the retail ecosystem will be offered by the extension of this wholesale arm of Flipkart.
Flipkart Wholesale Limited To Fashion Vertical; Will Expand To Home, Kitchen, Grocery Soon
As of now, though, the business still restricts itself to apparel categories. The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly affected clothing sales, but now that India’s festive season is just around the corner, Flipkart is possibly expecting a sales boost. This justifies Flipkart ‘s expansion to new cities.
“From stylish Jaipuri kurtis to evergreen Mysore silk saris, we strive to help small businesses embrace the digital transformation and emerge as more robust businesses,” said Adarsh Menon, Senior Vice President and Head of Flipkart Wholesale.
He also said in a statement released by the online e-commerce behemoth that the company is excited that the initiative will help improve the micro , small and medium enterprise (MSME) companies, kiranas. It will also build ‘lakhs of fresh and exciting possibilities for livelihoods in India.’
Flipkart Wholesale also plans to expand into some distinct categories, such as home and kitchen and grocery, as noted.
