Do you feel embarrassed by the mistakes you made when texting on WhatsApp? then discover that sending the correction is annoying? So you can finally sigh with relief. The ‘edit’ feature for messages that is currently present on competing platforms like Signal and Telegram has FINALLY been added to WhatsApp. Within 15 minutes of sending a message, WhatsApp users will now be able to amend it. Users will be able to access the edit option in a few weeks as it has begun to roll out globally.
How will the edit option work?
- You must long press on the sent message and select the “edit” option from the pop-up menu in order to edit your message. Your messages can only be edited once every 15 minutes.
- Edited messages will also be marked as such and will be visible to the recipient. Users won’t be able to view the history of altered messages, unlike on Facebook. Facebook’s message editing feature was introduced almost ten years ago.
- Editing “Beast of Luck” to “Best of Luck” was the newest function introduced by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg in a Facebook post.
WhatsApp messages cannot now be altered. Any misspelling, addition, or mistake had to be sent as a separate mail. Within 60 hours, messages can also be erased, but the recipient will be informed of the deletion.
In the last several months, WhatsApp has released a tonne of new features. A new locked conversation option was recently introduced by WhatsApp to give users an additional level of privacy and protection for some of their preferred discussions. Additionally, it stated that customers would be able to use their accounts on various mobile devices.
